With VR glasses to death

Recently, an article appeared about the fact that the inventor of the Oculus, Palmer LuckeyThe game is a VR goggle that allows the person using it to die in real life as a result of a death in the game. I actually don't know how crazy you have to be to build such an apparatus. Even if it's just a thought-provoking idea, you should really think about the impact such a system will have on people. Will there be digital gladiator games in the future, where prisoners fight for freedom and all die except for one person and this person becomes free, like in The Tributes of Panem - The Hunger Games?

Why it's good that the blue check mark on Twitter should cost money

Why it's good that the blue check mark on Twitter should cost money

Elon Musk has bought Twitter, shocking for many, for many also a liberating blow from censorship of unwanted content. But Elon is a capitalist and his investment of several billion dollars, should also be worthwhile, the blue check mark, which is the symbol on Twitter as proof of a real person behind this account, should cost money and that, is good.

Images are getting bigger and bigger - that's a problem

Images are getting bigger and bigger - that's a problem

For some time I have noticed one thing, the files are getting bigger and bigger, mainly images, since 4K, 8K and images with more than 30 megapixels are made, files are getting bigger and bigger, and that's a problem. Not because you can't handle it, but because these quality resolutions are not needed in everyday life and waste storage space, in the name of the technological mantra, bigger, better, further, higher....

Why vertical farming companies need to catch up on the web

Why vertical farming companies need to catch up on the web

For more than 8 years I'm already a web developer and working in my self-employment, there come more or less known sites, technologies, CMS and stacks to eyes where you think to yourself "Hey, that's WordPress!" or "OMG, that's Joomla/Typo3 :O", some websites you can see that directly, with others I only need to read briefly in the header of the page source and know what this page is built with, what I'm dealing with, what theme is behind it, what plugins are used and who adheres to the DSGVO/GDPR or not, yes, I have so found some websites already, where the Google Analytics anonymous_ip was not set 😉 . But no one pays me to report other sites, nor would I get money to take care of the errors of another site.

Why "The Line" is just sick in Saudi Arabia

Why "The Line" is just sick in Saudi Arabia

For some years now, one has been hearing and reading about "The Line" and the Project NEOMwhich is supposed to be the city of the future in Saudi Arabia, not that China has already had worse experiences with its planned cities (Under Occupied Developments in China, Ordos, China's empty city), although I at least find the concept of a planned city practical and exciting as an IT and developer, for example the South Korean planned city of Songdo, which is actually a district of the megacity Incheon. The advantage here is simply that you can optimize everything, improve processes, and on paper technically better implement that than if something grows organically.

What is the truth?

What is the truth?

What is truth? Depending on the view and the possibilities of one's own horizon, the view of truth lies with oneself.

If one wants to be satisfied with simplicity, a suitable truth quickly emerges that fits into one's own world view. But is this still the truth just because you yourself think that this is the truth? Not really, because your neighbor may already have a completely different view of the circumstances and sees the truth quite differently. In both cases one lies here neither wrong nor right, but in between, both sides have discovered in each case a part of the truth, however only and/or mostly this part, which fits into own world view. And that is then not necessarily the whole truth.
