Paywalls: Artificial intelligence threatens the free Internet

Why you'll soon see paywalls everywhere

The Internet was once a place of limitless freedom, where we could click through countless websites undisturbed. But this era may soon be a thing of the past, because a menacing force called artificial intelligence (AI) has opened the battle for the free Internet.

The war that never was - when AI fantasizes images that don't exist

The war that never was - when AI fantasizes images that do not exist

Recently I came across an article by interestingengineering.com where it was about AI being able to create images that don't exist, while it might still be amusing to see how Trump arrested by police becomes, or the Pope on fashion icon AI can or could be used to create images that do not exist in a context that is dangerous for everyone. Images of uprisings, armed conflicts and catastrophes.

ChatGPT solves the trolley problem and reveals its thinking

ChatGPT solves the trolley problem and reveals its thinking

ChatGPT and the trolley problem, why didn't I think of it myself? The Trolley problem is a moral-philosophical mental game, where a person steers a carriage/trolley and must set the switches, depending upon how one sets the switch, gives a consequence, this consequence must be able to weigh in the best case fast. Gladly this is treated in the area of ethics and morals.

Large AI experiments must be paused!

Already in my article about the Dangers of Generative AIIn my talk on artificial intelligence, also known as general AI in German-speaking countries, I described the dangers posed by the rapid, uncontrolled and unregulated development of artificial intelligence.

Now, more and more people, including public figures, e.g.. Elon Musk, Steve WozniakThe AI Labs of the U.S. have drawn attention to the issue and issued a public letter urging AI labs to temporarily halt research and training of AIs more powerful than GPT-4, effective immediately.

I signed this public letter as an entrepreneur and developer because I see the dangers and without regulation we should not continue to develop this technology because the downside and its impact will affect everyone in the world.

Pause Giant AI Experiments: An Open Letter
We call on all AI labs to immediately pause for at least 6 months the training of AI systems more powerful than GPT-4.

Lex Kirpeit/AI2023 - Restriction of Generative Artificial Intelligence - Guideline.

Due to the rapid development of artificial intelligence, this has far-reaching consequences for humanity, the likes of which we have never experienced before at such a speed. Within weeks to months, virtually anyone with access to the Internet can now use artificial intelligence to achieve their goals.

Using ChatGPT (GPT-3.5), I created a Lex Kirpeit/AI2023, and adjusted measures accordingly (ChatGPT suggested death penalty, which I think is overkill), which states what limitations of generative AI should apply in my opinion and experience. Since I am a natural person and do not have legislative influence, this Lex Kirpeit/AI2023, is a recommendation and should be considered an informal guide to dealing with generative AI.

This lex is not legally binding, but should be considered to limit long-term harm from generative AIs.

ChatGPT's conclusion:

It is my hope that the Lex Kirpeit/AI2023 will help ensure that the use of generative AI technology is done in an ethically responsible manner and that humanity is protected from the potential harms of the use of AI technology.

Generative AI is a danger and we should ban it

Generative AI is a danger and we should ban it

I love using AI and see the benefits every day in my day-to-day work to make my job easier, but not always uncritically, so I have to debug code more often, but it's nicely formatted and documented right away. But generative AI is a danger. Continue reading →

How Microsoft's Bing with ChatGPT will change the Internet

There are only stories from the Time of browser wars beginning of the 21st century, between Netscape and Internet Explorer, but also the 2nd browser war later, between Firefox and Google Chrome, competed against each other and wanted to be the better browser. In the end, it was Google who, on the basis of the open source Chromium browser, with Google Chrome, made it... created a quasi supremacy on the Internetand shares the browser world with a few other browsers. Most other browsers, albeit from other manufacturers, also end up with Chromium or at least the WebKit rendering engine working in the background.
