The third world war: BR24 Reportage - but without the man who saved us

Stanislav Yevgrafovich Petrov, former lieutenant colonel of the Soviet Air Defense Forces, a pity that at BR24 could not at least mention his name, mainly a former spy and former teacher of the peace movement, but just not the name of the man who saved us. To him we owe that he reacted prudently in the right moment and despite false alarm, did not press the red button. In an interview he once said that it seemed strange to him and he could not imagine that the USA would attack the Soviet Union with only 5 missiles. Probably many owe him their lives today, because many would not have been born today if he had not acted correctly.

War or peace? And who decides that?

The war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for a year, I actually wanted to list at this point what this war has brought to people all over the world so far, but somehow you can understand for yourself what war is and what it has caused, and so a mere listing would not be fair if I forgot something.

How Microsoft's Bing with ChatGPT will change the Internet

There are only stories from the Time of browser wars beginning of the 21st century, between Netscape and Internet Explorer, but also the 2nd browser war later, between Firefox and Google Chrome, competed against each other and wanted to be the better browser. In the end, it was Google who, on the basis of the open source Chromium browser, with Google Chrome, made it... created a quasi supremacy on the Internetand shares the browser world with a few other browsers. Most other browsers, albeit from other manufacturers, also end up with Chromium or at least the WebKit rendering engine working in the background.

March March into eco-dictatorship? Citizen participation to be undermined

Is Germany moving step by step into an eco-dictatorship? Current developments show that, yes, freedoms are being reduced.

For years, citizen participation has been involved in infrastructure projects such as highways or wind turbines, citizens have voice rights and are allowed to say no, species protection is a priority so that animals that are endangered are supported and protected, but now it is said to have come out that Robert Habeck, Federal Minister of Economics (The Greens), was in Brussels and submitted a corresponding application to be able to introduce an emergency ordinance in Germany. The first emergency decree since 1933.

Tunisia: Democracy of the Arab world goes down...

A disgrace for democratic relations in Tunisia, only 11.3% voter turnout, which must be an international low.

After talking to friends from Tunisia, they told me that voting won't change anything anyway.

That's right! Politicians are idiots everywhere, but if they see that people are watching their backs, and that as a majority, they will be less likely to screw up and not get on the wrong side of the population.

If I were a politician, I interpret it to mean that as a politician I can do whatever I want because only a minority of 11% even care what I do and they can't make a difference in a democracy anyway because the rest lethargically practice silent protest.....

I have more sympathy for the German protest voters who vote for the AFD, who want to tell the established parties that they should pay more attention to the needs of the citizens and less to what is ideologically trendy at the moment.

Parliamentary elections 2022, second round - turnout 11.3%
