Putin and Selensky agree to peace initiative - South Africa as peace broker

While the war in Ukraine has been going on for more than 1 year now, the EU, Germany and also the USA, continue to send weapons to this war region. As a reminder, the Greens were against arms deliveries to war regions, in addition to attempts by China, there is now another party urging peace.

While the EU and virtually the Western world are in favor of the war and somehow imagine that Ukraine could defeat Russia, China sees it differently with the peace plan. But not only China is concerned about the war, now South Africa also enters the stage and calls for peace, and surprise, Putin and Selensky agree to peace initiative, which was brokered by South Africa.

African leaders want to send a peacekeeping mission to Russia and Ukraine to find a peaceful solution to the conflict. The mission will be led by the heads of state from Zambia, Senegal, the Republic of Congo, Uganda, Egypt and South Africa. The presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Putin and Selenskyj, have agreed to receive the mission.

But the peace initiative is not altruistic, the reason is the food supply on the continent and the rising grain prices due to the war. So one wants to achieve peace in order to ultimately profit from it, and there is nothing wrong with that, because South Africa is indirectly affected by the war and thus suffers, like many other African countries, from the increased prices and a starving population. And it doesn't really matter whether anyone profits from this, because the restoration of diplomatic talks towards peace is indispensable, otherwise how should such a war end? With Atomic bombs from American B52s stationed in Europe were?

And so the African countries are pushing for a cease-fire, which Putin and Selensky are bringing within reach by both agreeing to the initiative. Because in the long run it cannot go on like this, people are tired of war, how many people has this war cost?

Russia: 100,000-200,000 depending on source
Ukraine: 50,000-60,000 depending on source

Whether it's 150,000 dead or 260,000 dead, I think history will hopefully be able to determine that relatively well in a few years.

Whether South Africa's peace mission will be successful is an open question, but the willingness of both warring parties to listen to this peace mission shows me that both are tired of war, no one can win, many men have already been lost, recruits are only used as cannon fodder. And even if there is no one left to fight, do they want to continue? Do they really want to drop atomic bombs?

The really sad thing is, should the African peace mission be successful, against all world expectations, it only shows that Europe is incapable of solving conflicts on its own territory. And it does not help when Baerbock says we are at war with Russia, instead of working to achieve peace. A EU peace plan exists, but strangely enough it is not reported on in the news portals.

In a war there is no winner, why this was not understood in 2023 I do not know, but will never change.
